Screenprinted stoneware vase
2026
Part of the series, "Still Listening: Ceramic Relics of Climate Change".
With support from the New Brunswick Arts Board, I engaged in months of experiments in screenprinting ceramic materials to crisply document today's communication towers for future generations.
As part of their Ponts Vivants residency at the Centre des Arts et de la Culture in Dieppe, we see the results of intensive experimentation. The large vase holds a paper transfer and a geli plate transfer of communication towers in Quispamsis, and Dieppe. These iconic images were converted to silkscreens and printed from photos taken in March 2026. This vase has a small crack, which is sealed from the inside, but it is a 'second' because of that.
